We can convert your old-style video footage to modern formats for viewing on current day devices and DVD players. We charge for the quantity (hours/minutes) of video converted, as opposed to the number of tapes/cards/DVDs for transfer. We find this the fairest method as the amount of video on each tape etc can vary dramatically. All analogue video footage is digitally processed during the transfer procedure to improve stability and any play back issues, in addition to colour and sound.

Digital Video File

Digital files for playback in computers and other digital media players are converted to MP4 as standard. Other digital formats are available on request. We find that MP4 files are more compatible across the various computer platforms. We suggest you provide either USB sticks or portable hard drives for the video files to be saved to, although we carry stocks of USB stick for purchase.

DVDs

Your DVD can be designed to play automatically or start with a ‘Play All’ menu screen when placed in your computer or DVD player. Alternately sophisticated navigation and menu structures can be designed to allow flexibility when playing multiple titles and chapters.

All DVDs are supplied in a clear slim DVD case and the discs and slip case artwork can be printed with the title of your video footage if required.

Getting the best from your footage

We always endeavour to extract the best from your older tapes through transfer. In addition to colour processing, your footage is routed via a time base corrector to help reduce errors caused by mechanical instability and oxide drop-out flaws.

All transferred footage is then processed in our MAC based computers checking the picture quality, framing and removing any unwanted portions of video as required. The DVD can be designed to play automatically after inserting the disc or start up with a opening menu screen with straight forward play options. Alternatively where presentation is important, more sophisticated menu structures can be designed to handle multiple titles and chapters with elaborate navigation.

DVD Transfers

Despite the continued push by manufacturers to move on from this successful format, DVD is still a popular method to watch your videos as they can be used in stand alone DVD players in addition to computer drives,.

I am a Film Producer/Director; Ian Laurie has been my Number One Editor for more than fifteen years.

Ian is so very reliable, as an editor he listens to exactly what I want when I am producing the edit and is creative with his own ideas and expertise. My clients are always extremely pleased with the films we put together which are mainly Corporate or Charity promotional.

Ian is a highly accomplished Camera operator; he produces many of his own films for his own clients and is brilliant as second camera working along side me on my shoots. Ian has high quality camera, sound and lighting kit of his own for video. He is also an extremely accomplished stills photographer. Ian is highly skilled with all aspects of film production. He is hard working, calm, reliable, friendly and polite. I thoroughly recommend his Film Production Services.
